Devin Hamilton is a 2007 1B with a 6'3'', 215 lb. frame from Acworth GA, who attends Harrison HS. He has a very athletic build, with good present strength and good overall looseness and projectability. Hamilton ran the 60 in 7.55 and threw 75 mph during infield drills. He showed very good defensive actions at 1B, with athletic agility, soft hands and a strong, accurate arm. Hamilton hits from a balanced stance and uses his lower half well to help develop bat speed. He has an upper cut swing with some late bat speed and the potential for loft power. He lacks any type of trigger at present to get his bat started, which leaves him a tentative hitter during games who has trouble getting his bat started. There is a lot of hitting talent here and it's close to the surace but not quite there yet. Hamilton has a chance to develop into a ncie player. He is also a good student.
