Chris Ruggles is a very young looking and slender 5'11/165 2005 right handed pitcher from Trophy Club, TX. He has very solid pitching mechanics, with a simple on-line delivery and a smooth arm action that’s short in back and long in front. Ruggles' lack of physical strength and maturity holds his velocity down and he was 77-80 mph on his fastball in Waco with a 64-66 mph curveball and 69 mph change up. Ruggles threw good strikes with all three pitches. He definitely looks like a candidate to throw harder in the future as he gets bigger and stronger. Offensively he showed average contact from a closed stance, and he stepped into the ball cutting him off on some inside pitches. This kid can really pitch! Chris is a good student.
