2007 Atlantic Coast Underclass Showcase
Thomas Lundborg is a 2009 C /1B with a 6'0'', 185 lb. frame from Brentwood, TN who attends Brentwood Academy. He has a nice catchers build, with a solid frame and developing strength. Lundborg has very good defensive tools and actions and stands out in that part of the game. He stays low and compact in his actions and has outstanding arm strength for his age. Lundborg's best pop time in drills was 2.00 but that was a true time and he was 2.05 a couple of times on tag throws during games to nail runners easily. He works hard on defense and carries himself with confidence. Lundborg's offensive game isn't as far advanced, which will be an issue over the next few years. His bat speed doesn't match his raw physical strength and he lacks flexability and looseness in his swing. He showed a nice level swing during batting practice and stayed down and through the ball on contact but wasn't able to duplicate that in games. His defense does stand out at a premium defensive positon and that should carry him. He was named to the Showcase Top Prospect Team.
