Cody Yount is a 2008 3B/P/OF with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame from Scottsdale, AZ, who attends Chaparral HS. Yount has a lean, athletic, and projectable frame with good upside. Defensively he has solid actions. Yount stays down on the ball well, and made several nice plays to his back hand. He has raw arm strength (79 mph) and looks like he should throw even harder. At the plate he is a left handed hitter who hits from a straight away stance. Yount sits back on his back leg and uses a little toe tap trigger. He has bat speed, and he stays inside the ball. Yount stays balanced and he gets leverage at the point of contact. He has a nice swing plane. Yount runs hard and hustles. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a slow and deliberate delivery. He has projectable velocity with good upside. Yount is an excellent student as well.
