Brendan McQuillan is a 2007 OF/P with a 6'3'', 175 lb. frame from Norco, CA, who attends Norco HS. He has tall, lean, and projectable frame. McQuillan has great speed, especially for his size, and ran a 6.89 sixty. He also runs the bases well and uses his speed in the outfield. Defensively he moves well to the ball, and has an accurate arm on his throws. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a slightly closed stance with good bat speed. McQuillan has a balanced swing with a slight uppercut swing plane. He has long ball potential and hit several hard hit balls in batting practice. Stays in well on off-speed pitches, and has the ability to hit with average and power. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot. His fastball topped out at 80 mph while working in the 78-80 mph range. McQuillan throws his curveball for strikes with depth, and allowed only 1 hit during his 2 innings on the mound. He has good determination and plays hard.
