Chase Vaden is a 6'4" 172 pound 2006 left handed pitcher and outfielder from Lynch Station, Virginia who attends Altavista High School. He has a tall frame and a long lean build. Chase pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a short arm action in back. He has a high leg kick and gets good extension and finish. The ball leaves his hand very well and he also hides it from the hitter. His fastball at 83 mph has good arm side run to it. His curveball at 64 mph has good 1/7 rotation to it with good tilt. At the plate, Vaden is a line drive hitter who makes good contact. Chase is a solid prospect with a projectable pitcher's frame. He has a good upside and is a very good student as well.
