Ryan Wynveen is a 2007 LHP/1B/OF with a 6'0'', 185 lb. frame from San Diego, CA, who attends Patrick Henry HS. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with solid arm action. Wynveen has a deceptive delivery and hides the ball well from the hitter. He brings his lead leg in tight to his body during his delivery, but he stays inline and balanced. He has arm speed that helps produce a fastball that topped out at 84 mph with cutting action. Wynveen keeps his fastball down in the zone, and the ball jumps on hitters from his deceptive delivery. He also mixes in a curveball at 70 mph and a 65 mph change with arm side fade and sink. He did not allow a run in his 3 IP while striking out 5. At the plate he is a left handed hitter who stays inside the ball with a good short swing. He stays balanced and shows projectable power. Defensively he has soft hands and made some really nice plays on short hop throws to first bas. He has a good glove and a strong arm from first base. He is also an outstanding student.
