Murray has a pro body at 6-2, 195 lbs and some good tools to go with it. He has close to MLB average arm strength on throws across the diamond from third base and threw 84-85 mph off the mound. Murray’s hands are sure and soft and as long as he works hard to maintain his looseness, he’ll be a solid defensive third baseman in pro or college ball. Murray has some natural loft in his swing and can drive balls hard with his natural strength. He’s an anxious hitter who’ll have to learn how keep his front side closed and his hands back at the next level as pitchers change speeds. He creates excellent bat speed with the wood and projects to hit with power. Murray is also very interesting as a pitching prospect, at least at the college level. We can easily see him throwing 90 or better in the future and he shows a good breaking ball and a nice change. Look for him to sign with a top baseball academic school.
