2006 Northeast Top Prospect Showcase
James Beall is a 2007 LHP/1B/OF with a 6'0'', 194 lb. frame from New York, NY who attends Collegiate School. James has a well-developed athletic build. On the mound James throws from a 3/4 arm slot and has a ton of life on all of his pitches. His fastball has very good cut action while his curveball has a very tight rotation. He will also feature a change-up with good sink and nice depth to a slider. He struggled with his command quite a bit and he could improve a lot once he works on finishing center to the plate and slowing his delivery down some. At the plate James is primarily a contact hitter that can hit the ball to any part of the park. He showed very good athletic actions at first base and looked comfortable there with nice hands. James is a very good student that should attract the attention of many smaller college programs.
