Kubo is a projectable switch hitting outfielder from California with a good bat. He showed a good swing taking a big hack at the ball holding little back. He can not easily handle the heavier wood yet and the ball came off his bat fairly well but his swing was on the ball in a line drive plane. He hit best in the games as the pitchers supplied a little more power for him and he drove the ball better than we saw in BP. He shortened up his swing and was consistently making contact. His single up the middle in the first game was a good sign of how he adjusted to hit good pitching. His body is nice and lean with long muscles and should have no problem growing into his frame. On the hill he showed a sidearm approach, a tough angle on the hitter. He is a good player to follow through the summer and fall since he appears to have plenty of filling out to do. Good student.
