Charlie Verrone is a 2016 SS/RHP, OF, 2B with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Alta Loma, CA who attends Los Osos. Large frame with athletic, strong build and very good projection left physically. Hits from slightly open stance with good balance throughout swing, Has legitimate raw bat speed with power behind it, strong hands and wrists, makes consistent hard contact. Threw 92 MPH from the OF with plus carry and accuracy, moved well to the ball and fielded cleanly with athleticism and fluidity. Fielded well in the IF with range to both sides; quick release over to 1B with accuracy and arm strength. Sets up well behind the plate, athleticism is obvious, quick release and footwork on throws to 2B, popping as low as 1.95. Also pitched, threw from low 3/4 slot with quick arm and online with balance through delivery. Pitches downhill well, FB worked 79-82 topping at 83 with good life to arm side. 11/5 CB with late break and good spin; also flashed a CH with good run and deception. Threw strikes and attacked hitters. Named to 2015 Sunshine West Showcase Top Prospect List.
