2015 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Noah Williams is a 2016 SS/RHP with a 5-9 158 lb. frame from La Verne, CA who attends Bonita HS. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and a strong build with present strength throughout. Ran a 6.94 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front and shows quick footwork moving up the middle, gets behind and works through the ball, full arm action, gets on top of throws and shows strength and carry for left side of diamond. Fields the ball out to side in outfield, incorporates lower half well into release and shows a solid follow through, good energy to ball and solid present arm strength from a higher arm slot release. Also pitched, full and quick arm action in back with tight release from a high three-quarter release. Compact delivery, creates good direction towards the plate and gets downhill plane on fastball that topped 80 mph with occasional arm side run, effort at release. Curveball has 11-5 shape with nice bite. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and a slight barrel tilt at top. High leg lift trigger, upper body swing with quiet hand load. Stays short to ball, has a feel for the barrel and comfort hitting from line to line. Line drive swing plane with bat speed through the zone, comes off the barrel well with line drive contact. Named to West Coast Top Prospect List. Very good student.
