John Oyler is a 2014 OF/1B with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from Louisville, KY who attends Pleasure Ridge Park. Oyler has a large frame with a lean build. Defensively he has solid footwork to the baseball and he uses a two hand pick up on ground balls. He throws with a long arm action and throws uphill. Oyler projects best in left field and makes accurate throws. At the plate, he starts with a low hand set with the barrel over his shoulder. He has a quiet approach and is a patient hitter. Oyler has developing bat speed and developing hitting tools. There's more bat speed in there with a few adjustments to his approach. He's a solid runner at 7.25 in the 60 yard dash. Very good student.
