Cory Ewald is a 2014 C/2B, RHP, OF with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Colorado Springs, CO who attends Doherty HS. Medium athletic frame with some strength. As a catcher he showed good fielding actions with quick feet, soft hands and good arm strength with a quick transfer and release. Good job of blocking balls in the dirt behind the plate, moves well behind the plate. As a right handed pitcher he threw from a high 3/4 arm slot with a very short leg kick and stays tall on backside. He showed good arm side run on his fastball, competes on the mound with a good slide step from the stretch, curveball had 12/6 break. As a right handed hitter, he hit from a wide base with a toe tap trigger, he showed good balance with good bat speed. Excellent Student.
