Kevin Strohschein is a 2015 OF/RHP with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from McDonough, GA who attends George Walton Academy. Large, athletic build with a lean, projectable build and nice present strength on frame. Solid runner, posted a 6.88 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, uses a crow hop to gain momentum with lower half, gets body in a good position to make the throw, live arm, longer release with present strength and carry on throw. Also pitched, throws from a high three-quarter arm slot with a clean arm stroke coming through the back side. Low leg kick with a quickly pace and simple delivery. Hides the ball well and pounds the strike zone with all three pitches, fastball topped at 88 mph with occasional cutting action. Nice break with deep tilt on slider at 79 mph and showed an 11-5 curveball with bite in mid-70s. Right-handed hitter, creates nice momentum with lower half, nice feel for the barrel, whips it through the zone with loose and quick hands. Stays compact through swing but creates lift with life off the barrel. Named to Southeast Top Prospect List. Very good student.
