Defensively, he has smooth actions with a strong arm at 72 mph and he popped a 1.87. He sets up well with a solid base and quick feet and he frames pitches well. He has a good feel for the position and he calls a very smart game. He hits from a wide base with a rock back load and a knee lift trigger. He makes solid contact with a line drive swing plane and good bat speed. He hits hard line drives to all fields and he shows good power potential. He has outstanding speed for a catcher with a 6.73 in the 60 and he has very athletic action. He is a solid defensive catcher that will hit at the next level. He is a definite follow. Jose is a very good student.
