Trent Landa is a 2007 LHP/1B from Arlington Country Day HS in Jacksonville, FL, with a 5'11", 175 lb. frame. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with very smooth pitching mechanics. His arm is long on the back side, but it is clean with projectable velocity. His fastball topped out at 78 mph and he worked at 76-78. Landa had arm side movement on his fastball, and also mixed in a 67 mph curveball with some depth and a 73 mph change up. Landa has good control of all three pitches and shows pitchability. Offensively he is a left handed hitter with a simple approach and a good line drive swing plane. Landa is short to the ball and makes consistent contact to all fields. He also has good hand-eye coordination with an awareness of the strike zone and doesn't chase bad pitches.
