Robert Gutierrez is a 2014 RHP/OF, IF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Oak Lawn, IL who attends St Laurence. Gutierrez has a medium sized frame with a thick build. He pitches from a low 3/4 arm slot with a slinging arm action. Gutierrez has a balanced delivery and gets good extension out front. He gets some sink and run on his fastball and throws it to both sides of the plate. Gutierrez works quick on the mound and fields his position well. He throws a slider at 73 MPH and also throws a change up at 71 MPH. Defensively, Gutierrez has some arm strength with solid transfers. At the plate, he starts with a wide base and uses a no load approach. He swings on a line drive plane and maintains balance. Good student.
