Hunter Mercado-Hood is a 2013 OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Brentwood, CA who attends De La Salle HS. Medium athletic build, some present strength. 6.85 runner, good outfield fundamentals, sound footwork, on line accurate throws, some developing arm strength. Left handed hitter, tends to drift to front side with lower half, quick hands, stays inside the ball well, short to the ball, line drive swing plane, best contact to left field, leadoff/top of the order profile. Good student, verbal commitment to San Diego.
