Stephen Gonsalves is a 2013 LHP/OF with a 6-5 205 lb. frame from San Marcos, CA who attends Cathedral Catholic HS. Outstanding pitcher's build, long and loose and getting stronger, looks the part. Easy leg raise delivery, stays balanced well, free and loose arm action, 3/4's arm slot, ball leaves hand effortlessly. Steady 90 mph fastball, topped at 91 mph, very projectable velocity, good tailing life at times, pitches aggressively with fastball. Slow curveball has big depth at times, throws curveball for strikes, slows body noticeably on curveball release costing power and spin, rare change up is still developing. Left handed hitter, tall stance, long easy swing, flashes some power, line drive swing plane. Good student, verbal commitment to San Diego.
