O’Bryan is a big and strong 6-2 left handed hitting first baseman from Georgia. For such a strong young player, O’Bryan has a surprisingly short swing. He sets up very calmly at the plate and has a simple line drive swing. With his strength, the ball jumps off O’Bryan’s bat well and he showed the ability to center up on the ball in games as well as in batting practice. With his strength and control of the bat head, one wonders what O’Bryan could do power wise with a different approach at the plate, but it looks like this one works very well for him. O’Bryan ran 7.81 in the 60 and threw 75 mph across the diamond in infield drills. He is a very good student.
