Kyle Petrick is a 2006 catcher/third baseman from Estero, FL with a medium build and a strong lower half at 5-11, 179 lbs. He hits from a tall stance with a rock back load and a high hand set. Petrick has very strong hands and good bat speed with a line drive swing plane. The ball comes off his bat well and he shows present gap level power. Kyle has a good opposite field approach on the outside half and he has good bat control. Defensively, he has a strong arm at 74 mph with a quick release. He popped a 2.03 with on the bag accuracy. Petrick has good footwork behind the plate and blocks pitches well. He is a solid catcher with projectable power and he is a definite follow.
