Kalnins is a 20 year old student from Germany whose family is originally from Florida. He showed us a surprisingly balanced and easy swing, with a good swing plane and some bat speed. He consistently made solid line drive contact. Kalnins has a strong 6'1/200 lb body with good strength throughout. His arm strength was more than playable from the outfield and he ran the 60 in 7.50. He should hit for power down the road, especially if he gets his hips more involved. Justin would be well served by attending a good JC program. He could easily develop into a high DI level player in the future.
