Brian Battaglia is a 2008 SS/OF/P/2B from Howell HS, residing in Howell, New Jersey, with a 5'8"/180 pound frame. Brian has a solid frame. He hits from a slightly open stance with solid hands. Battaglia has a line drive approach at the plate and uses the whole field. He makes consistent contact at the plate, although his hands will drop at times. Brian has a low 3/4 release across the infield with an accurate arm at 73 mph. He has soft hands and solid range in the infield. Battaglia has short arm action from the outfield with a quick release at 79 mph and moves to the ball well. He needs to increase his arm strength from both positions. Brian pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with short arm action. He uses some effort in his delivery. Battaglia has a straight fastball at 80 mph, a solid changeup at 69 mph, and a 68 mph slider. Brian is an excellent student.
