Joseph Cofrancesco is a 2009 LHP/1B from Notre Dame West Haven HS, residing in Hamden, Connecticut, with a 5'11"/205 pound frame. Joseph was named to the Top Prospect Team. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with long and loose arm action. Cofrancesco has a high leg kick with a downward plane to the plate. His fastball has arm side run at 80 mph and keeps hitter off balance with his offspeed stuff. Joseph has good bite on his 1-7 curveball at 69 mph and a solid slider at 72 mph. He hits from an open stance with solid hands. Cofrancesco has good weight transfer and makes consistent contact. He will pull off at times and needs to get more extension. Joseph has long arm action from first base with an accurate arm at 75 mph. He has a good glove and solid footwork around the bag. Cofrancesco is a good student.
