Nicolas Quintero is a 2010 3B/C with a 5'10'', 195 lb. frame from Spring Valley, CA, who attends Monte Vista HS. Quintero is a very young player with present strength in his body. Defensively he made some very good plays in game action. He played short hops well at the hot corner, and he did a good job coming in on slow rollers. He also made nice plays to his back hand showing soft hands. Quintero also has an accurate arm, and his throws were 74 mph during the workout and better in game action. At the plate he is a left handed hitter who hits from a slightly open stance. He takes an aggressive swing with a flat bat patch. The ball jumps off his bat when he centers the ball. Even though he has an aggressive swing, he still has the ability to hit to all fields. Quintero is a young player with good upside.
