2001 Sunshine Showcase
William Coates is a young 2004 grad who may have some promise. He is fairly thick at 5'11 and 195 pounds. As a left-handed pitcher he topped out at 78 mph and threw his curve 64. He has plenty of time to develop and will need to gain more velocity on his heater and more rotation on his breaking ball. He also plays firstbase and when he hits he starts open and then steps across. He will need to run better to profile as a position prospect. Remember he is very young.
