Spencer Moniz is a 2008 MIF with a 5'10'', 160 lb. frame from Stevenson Ranch, CA, who attends Hart HS. Moniz has a lean frame. Defensively he has quick feet that allow him to get in the proper fielding position. He shows range to both sides, and he stays down on the ball. Moniz also has solid hands with a quick transfer. He also has a good release with solid arm strength. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a wider base with a no load approach. Moniz has quiet hands, and his hands work well in his swing. He is short to the ball and he keeps his hands inside the ball showing the ability to hit to all fields. Moniz shows bat speed through the hitting zone, and he gets extension out front. He takes good cuts, and he is an outstanding student as well.
