Douglas Peters is a 2007 third baseman/catcher from Escondido HS in Escondido, CA, with a 6'0", 180 lb. frame. He has a nice athletic frame and lean build to project more strength to come. Defensively he has good hands and footwork at third base who plays with energy. Peters made a great play on a pop up down the left field line from third base. At the plate, he shows good bat speed and has the ability to center the ball with some consistency and make adjustments at the plate. Peters comes from a quality program where they teach the game of baseball with pride. He is an aggressive player with a good head on his shoulders to make quick, aggressive decisions and become a leader on the team. Offensively he has good bat speed with present strength, and we like when he stays inside the ball at contact and is able to go up the middle with some authority. Peters projects to be a middle of the line up bat this year that should generate a lot of runs and be an impact at his present level and generate interest to play at the next level.
