Joseph Monosmith is a 2014 SS/OF/RHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Ankeny, IA who attends Ankeny Centennial HS. Long and lean athletic build, plenty of room to get stronger. Right handed hitter, open stance, moves into contact well, aggressive hitter who swings hard and tries to drive the ball, inside out approach and will occasionally loop his hands under the ball at contact, handles the barrel well and makes consistent line drive contact. Solid overall actions on the infield, charges the ball well, good hands, arm and release is smooth, also plays the outfield and makes on line accurate throws. Mid-70's on the mound with a high 3/4's arm slot and a quick, compact arm action, clean overall delivery mechanics, threw strikes with fastball and slow 11/5 curveball. Excellent student.
