Anthony Kupbens is a 2008 LHP/OF with a 6'2'', 170 lb. frame from San Jose CA, who attends Valley Christian HS. He has a rangy, lanky, projectable frame. Kupbens not only has a projectable body, but a projectable arm as well. He probably should have been listed as a top prospect at this event. He pitches with an over the top slot, with an long arm stroke that works with easy effort. His delivery has some rhythm and he got to nice frontside extension. Kupbens threw his 80-84 mph fastball with good angle and some late life. He showed feel for both his curveball (68) and his change-up (69). The curveball has good spin and some depth. He threw strikes with all three pitches. Follow him closely, he could really bust out this spring and summer. At the plate Kupbens also shows some promise. He has a flat swing and keeps his hands inside the ball, sometimes resulting in an inside-out swing that could develop into gap to gap pop as he gets stronger. He showed well with the bat, though Kupbens looks to have a higher ceiling on the mound. He is a solid student too.
