WP - Ellis Webster is a 2005 MIF from San Diequito HS in Carlsbad, CA. Ellis doesn't have a large frame and build, but he shows a very lively body that can do some very solid things on the diamond. He is a good line drive hitter who makes solid contact up the middle and to the opposite field. Ellis can do all of the little things and looks to be a top of the order hitter and quality 2B. He has plus bat control and has great strike zone judgment. Ellis has the hands and quickness to play either middle infield position with good instincts. He definitely has DI skills defensively. He runs fairly well and shows very good first step quickness. His arm is quick and accurate and he might profile best at 2B in college. Good solid player! He is also an excellent student.
