Dominic Smith is a 2013 1B/OF, LHP with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Los Angeles, CA who attends Serra HS. Solid athletic build, good present strength. Special left handed hitting tools, hitter's hands, very quick bat, can hit all types of pitching, hits the ball hard to all parts of the feel, very advanced ability to square the ball up, sees the ball, future batting champion type tools and has the power to go with it. Graceful defensive first baseman, very soft hands, pro level footwork, 6.89 runner with ability to play corner outfield but has more value at first base. Also pitched, low 90's fastball, some effort but commands the ball well, lots of late 2-seam fastball life, big breaking slow curveball, toyed with hitters. Has fun playing and has an unteachable feel for the game. Good student, verbal commitment to Southern California.
