Luke Anders is a 2005 1B/P from College Station, TX. Anders is an extra big young man at 6'6", 215 lbs. and is an intimidating presence in the batters box. He has a tall stance at the plate and maintains his leverage, but gets very little hip or lower body action in his swing while hitting around the ball. You can see the raw power potential, though, and we’re pretty sure that Anders can do some serious damage with metal in his hands. He has the tools to improve against upper level pitching with some changes to his approach. Anders also threw a couple of innings, as every 6'6" left hander should do. He had a sound delivery and maintained his height and leverage well, but didn’t develop much arm speed or extension. Anders fastball was 80-82 mph and he slowed his arm on his off speed pitches. He projects very large and he's athletic (7.23-60). Luke is a good student.
