Strickland is a 6-0 right handed hitting junior catcher from Georgia. He has a slender, projectable frame. Strickland threw 73 mph during catching drills with a low pop time of 1.99. He caught well in games and does a good job shifting and blocking balls. He’s a 7.49 runner in the 60 and was as low as 4.53 to first base, good speed for a catcher. At the plate, Strickland hits from an open stance with a level swing. He showed some raw power during batting practice that should further develop as he fills out. Strickland tends to raise up on his toes and jump out on his front side during his swing, which affects his balance and should work on this. He is a good student.
