Andrew Griffith is a 2005 OF from Tampa, FL. He is a strong bodied outfielder with the strength and tools to play very well at the college level. The adjustments and improvements he’ll have to make are almost all with his swing. Griffith is a good runner with good present overall strength. He has close to an average Major League arm from the outfield and also showed good outfield instincts on balls in the air. At the plate, Griffith hits from a tall, leveraged stance with little stride. On most of his swings he gives the impression of being a bit rigid and lacking rhythm and comfort in his trigger. However, Griffith generates above average bat speed and showed the ability to get his hands through with wood and pull the ball hard. He could develop some serious power in the future, especially as he becomes more comfortable getting the bat started. He has a chance to become a special player at the next level.
