Jose De La Cruz is a 2015 MIF/OF/RHP with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from New York, NY who attends George Washington HS. Medium, athletic frame with a well proportioned build and some room to fill out. Ran a 7.33 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, shows high energy actions to the ball, quick feet with smooth actions, shows strength and carry across with ability to throw on the run. Attacks from the outfield, short arm action with nice strength and carry out of hand, some effort at release. Also pitched, throws from a three-quarter arm slot with a smooth delivery. Occasionally opens front side early but when closed, stays on top and generates downhill plane on fastball topping 83 mph with nice arm side run. Flashed an 11-5 curveball with depth. Switch hitter, starts with a wide base and a high hand set from the left side. Upper body swing with an aggressive approach and a contact approach. More natural from right side, short swing path with lift at contact and projects with additional strength. Very good student. Named to World Uncommitted Top Prospect List.
