Dayan Sanchez is a 2007 OF with a 5'9'', 185 lb. frame from Cooper City FL, who attends Archbishop McCarthy HS. He has a compact, strong body and live, quick actions. He's physically mature and will have to make sure that he stays loose. Sanchez showed solid running and throwing tools during the workouts and looks like he could play all three outfield positions at the next level. His best tools are definitely with the bat, though. Sanchez hits out of an open stance and has a very aggressive, full attack hitting style. He's able to keep his balance very well and generates plus bat speed through the zone. Sanchez showed big time pull power potential and just smoked a number of balls. He was dialed in during games and it will be interesting to see how he adjusts to upper level breaking balls with his aggressive approach. If he can learn to recognize pitches and jump on the balls he can drive, Sanchez can be a very productive hitter at the next level. He is an excellent student who has his eyes on some top level academic institutions. He could be a star at the right one.
