Colton Hamill is a 2008 SS/2B with a 5'10'', 155 lb. frame from Anaheim, CA, who attends Loara HS. Hamill has a lean and athletic frame with a live body. This kid can really play defense! He has advanced actions showing soft hands and smooth footwork. Hamill has plus range with the ability to get to balls that most players can't. He makes all the plays look easy with fluid and athletic actions. Once he gets the ball, Hamill has solid arm strength with and accurate arm. At the plate he is a switch hitter with the same approach from both sides. Hamill uses a toe tap trigger, and he has a line drive swing plane that is short and compact to the ball. He is a line drive contact hitter that puts the ball in play to all fields. He tracks pitches well, and stays back on off-speed pitches. His defensive actions are already top notch, and he has great upside. He is also a good student.
