Josh Robert Escalera is a 2007 SS/2B with a 5'9'', 160 lb. frame from Victorville, CA, who attends Victor Valley HS. Escalera has an athletic frame with quick twitch actions. He runs very well with a quick first step and good speed under way. His 6.77 sixty time is good, but his game speed is even better. Defensively he stays low through ground balls showing good actions with soft hands. His quickness helps him have plus range, and he is very quick to start the double play. Escalera has solid arm strength with good accuracy, and made some nice plays in game action. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with an aggressive line drive swing. He uses his hands well spraying the ball to all fields, and tried to hit it back up the middle. Escalera is a fun player to watch on the bases and should be a top of the order hitter. His is also a good student.
