2005 National Open Top Prospect Showcase
Blake DeBacher is a 6'2" 180 pound 2006 outfielder and third baseman from Miami, Florida who attends Westminster Christian High School. He has a strong athletic body that should continue to get stronger. Blake has very good speed for his size which he showed by running a 7.05 60. During the workout, he showed his arm strength off by throwing 81 mph from the outfield. His throws were accurate with good online carry. He has smooth actions and a clean arm action as well. He glides to the ball very well and has excellent footwork. At the plate, DeBacher has very quick hands and a line drive swing plane that is quick to the ball. He has very projectable power and is an aggressive hitter. Blake is a very nice prospect who should continue to improve.
