Beckham is a live bodied middle infielder who has a combination of a very high waist and quick fluid actions reminiscent of a young Latin player. Beckham’s best tools are defensive. He is a 6.93 runner with above average first step quickness. His arm strength is fringy average from shortstop but he has a quick release and a very, very accurate arm. His hands are smooth and sure. Beckham made a couple of fine plays on both sides of the bag during games. He has lots of extra hand and body action at the plate and a somewhat long swing that’s a danger to catchers on the back swing. He made consistent contact in games and in batting practice but isn’t strong enough in his hands and upper body right now to handle wood effectively. This will come and he probably hits extremely well with the metal. He's a very very talented player.
