2004 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
RHP/1B Chad Zimborski: Zimborski is a young sophomore from Wisconsin with a fairly strong, mature body, especially for his age. As a right handed pitcher, Zimborski threw 75-77 mph with his fastball from a standard ¾’s release point. He also threw a 59-60 mph curve ball. Zimborski has a short, compact arm action but falls off pretty consistently to the first base side during his delivery. Better direction to the plate is going to help his extension out front and give him more velocity in the future. He has played both first base and the outfield during Spring League play. He has shown us some raw power to both alley’s in the past. Much like his pitching mechanics, Zimborski would benefit from better direction towards the pitcher; he tends to fall off and not get the hand extension through the ball that would enable him to use his full power potential.
