Defensively, he has solid footwork to the baseball with solid actions through the ball. Whitney has developing arm strength with an infield velocity up to 72 MPH. He profiles best at 2B and has solid transfers. At the plate, Whitney starts with a slightly open stance and has a patient approach at the plate. He has a compact swing and he showed some bat speed.
