Paul Montealvo is a 2016 RHP/OF/IF with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Magnolia, TX who attends Magnolia West HS. Young slender build, lots of room to get stronger. Compact arm action with an over the top release point, some back side collapse causes pitches to flatten out. Mid-70's fastball, topped out at 78 mph, mostly straight. Soft lower 60's curveball, tends to cast curveball on release, can improve curveball spin with better release out front, threw strikes and competed. Right handed hitter, balanced stance and approach, long level line drive swing, swings hard and will occasionally pull head off before contact, spray line drive contact. 7.63 runner, long extended arm action on defense with some developing arm strength. Good student.
