Jake Smith is a 2013 RHP/OF with a 6-4 185 lb. frame from Laurel, MS who attends West Jones HS. Large projectable, frame with room to fill. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot on the mound, long arm action, throws easy, has arm speed, good tempo. Fastball has life to it, good command of his curveball, curveball is 11-5 break to it, likes to work outer half, slider has downward tilt. Has good arm strength from the outfield, short arm action, good actions, takes good routes on fly balls. Is an aggressive hitter at the plate, quiet load, good bat speed, short swing, has leverage in swing, ball jumps off his bat when squared up. Is an interesting 2-way prospect to follow and is a good student.
