Trentt Copeland is a 2007 MIF/3B/P with a 6'0'', 165 lb. frame from Guelph, ON who attends John F Ross SS. He has a slender, loose athletic build and developing strength. Copeland has smooth shortstop actions and glides very easily to balls with good balance and quick feet. He has plenty of arm strength from an overhand release point when he has the time to set up and throw; he will probably have to work on shortening his release. Offensively, Copeland is also smooth with his swing, with nice bat speed and good use of his hands. His swing is a little long due to a deep load but he gets his hands through on inside pitches, helped by an open stance. Copeland extends well through the ball and has some power. Copeland also took a turn on the mound and threw 82-84 mph with little effort, with a sharp downer 70 mph curveball. There is probably more velocity there if he wasn't playing shortstop every day. Copeland is a graceful athlete who does everything pretty well. He has signed with Evansville.
