Charley Boring is a 2008 3B/OF with a 6'4'', 195 lb. frame from Marietta, Georgia, who attends Kennesaw Mountain High School. Boring has a good frame with projectability and a strong lower half. He runs well for his size on the bases and in the field. Defensively he has good arm strength (85 mph) across the diamond with solid carry. Boring has solid actions at the hot corner with instincts and reactions, and he charges the ball well. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a straight away to slightly open stance. He shows bat speed through the hitting zone with a line drive swing plane. Boring takes an aggressive swing and gets leverage at the point of contact showing projectable power. He is balanced through his swing, and stays on curveballs well. Once on the bases Boring has instincts. He is a good student as well.
