Dylan Gavin is a 2008 SS/3B/2B with a 6'2'', 190 lb. frame from Santa Cruz Ca, who attends Santa Cruz HS. Selected as a Top Prospect at this event. Gavin has a strong, athletic body that is well-proportioned. He is a talented and well-rounded player, with a bright future. Offensively Gavin has an excellent approach and a very sound swing. He has a quick bat and is short to the ball, maintaining balance throughout his swing. He transfer his weight well, using his hips to drive line drives from gap to gap. He lets the ball travel and is going to rack up the doubles in college, eventually developing more power. Defensively he can play anywhere in the infield. His hands are soft, his release is quick, his feet work well and he has feel. His bat should play as a college 3rd baseman and certainly does as a middle infielder. He is an outstanding student as well.
