Gerald Bautista is a 2012 3B/RHP with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Lutz, FL who attends Steinbrenner HS. Thick, strong muscular build, long arms, agile and quick for his size. Very sound infield actions, shows very good range to his left, long release but plenty of arm strength, balanced, good instincts and reactions. Open high hand hitting approach, recognizes pitches well, aggressive swing, attacks the ball with good bat speed, shows power and can drive the ball, squares it up in the games, ball jumps, pull approach, will roll over the ball at times. Also pitched, works from the stretch, high 3/4's release, upper 80's fastball, touched 90 mph, good feel for change up, big downer curveball with good spin and depth. Three solid pitches and throws strikes. Two-way prospect.
